In 1974 the practice of field hockey was born in Potenza Picena by a group of enthusiasts, some of whom militants in the C.U.S. ANCONA. The first ever was Mr. Mario Properzi who, as a university student, learned that in the C.U.S. a master of sport, Mr. Gianni Rossi from Ferrara, was a national level field hockey technician. Dr. Properzi, taken by curiosity, asked the technician to be available to teach hockey and in a few days convinced some university students to set up a real team. In addition to university students, some athletes from Potenza Picena were registered, including Paolo Grandinetti and Massimo Caprani. Fascinated by this new discipline, they immediately began to have hockey practiced in schools and in 1976 with Dr. Properzi deposited the Statute and Constitutive Act of the new Hockey Potenza Picena sports club in the Italian Hockey Federation (FIH), in January 1977 after obtaining the affiliation, the sports club participated in the first field hockey championship using the Scarfiotti sports field.
Potentia hockey
The field hockey club A.S.D.HOCKEY POTENTIA was born on 1 July 2006. The company is mainly made up of many "old glories" who militated in the HC Potenza Picena. From the idea of Massimo Caprani and Massimo Romoli, a second hockey club in Potenza Picena takes shape. The initiative immediately found a lot of support and gathers, in addition to the Piceni veterans, a group of enthusiastic and strong-willed players. Immediately, steps were taken to create an office which, thanks to the intervention of Massimo Caprani with the Municipality of Potenza Picena, it was possible to obtain premises owned by the same. So after 3 months of work necessary for the restoration, with the contribution of all the "Masters", the site was inaugurated in December 2007. Shortly thereafter, the structure developed with other services and comforts and became the club house of the company as well as a meeting point for members and members. You start to participate in tournaments in Italy and abroad, finding old friends and above all getting to know new ones. The company is relatively young, but it has an "ancient soul". The MASTERS from Potenza are continuously engaged in various competitive activities, sports promotion, event organization and entertainment. Not least in the social field with collaboration and support to other associations.
